1999 Nissan Maxima GLE recommended tire pressure

There seems to be a discrepancy between my tire dealer and Nissan regarding the recommended tire pressure for my 1999 Nissan Maxima GLE.

Anyone with access to the Nissan owners manual that can advise me what Nissan recommends, would do me a great service.

I don't have the manual but I have a tire guide book that list the manufacturer's recommendation. The Nissan recommendation is 29 PSI.

This minimum tire pressure that you should run, for most fast and aggressive drivers + 2 to 3 psi above this gives you the best combination of steering response, ride comfort, fuel economy and road noise.

When living in a hot climate (95+) daily in summer, does this change Nissan's recommendation for tire pressure?

My tire dealer insists that 35 is the best PSI but his own manual confirms Nissan recommends 29 psi. I am afraid that at 35 psi in this heat the tires will wear prematurely or even blow out.

Mine is a family car, mostly driven locally for errands. What is the best psi level for my Maxima, 29? more? I don't have it with me to check the doorjam.

For a family car 29 psi would be fine as long as you check the pressure regularly. You will normally lose about 1 psi per month.

35 psi may lead to irregular wear in the center of the tire.

Bottom line is go 29 to 32 psi, 32 to allow for a safety margin in case pressure is not checked regularly.
