How do you burn out in a manual car?
Anton

i meant how do you burn out in a automatic car

Auto easy hold brake hit gas or you can just hit gas if the cars got enough power or crummy tires.
Anton

If i hold brake and has the tires dont spin though thats brake tourqing it just revs the engine and when i let go of the brake it just launchs the car faster, the only way i tried buring out was on a hill, just rolled back and hit the gas, but cant do it at a straight ground level

Make sure you lock you auto in first or it will shift and you will stop burning your tires

sorry dude your car just sucks too much then. either it is too heavy, it doesnt have enough power, or you just cant drive. what kind of car do you have man?
Anton
07-07-2003, 12:31 AM
must be the car its a 1994 altima with 250,000 miles on it 150 hp 2.4 engine lol iam getting a financed car in sept when i come back from vacation looking at an rsx type s right now
audi&benz
07-07-2003, 12:56 PM
thats your problem dude. you dont have enought torque to spin the tires. when you get your rsx or whatever get a stick then you can spin them easily.
Anton
07-07-2003, 03:22 PM
what i just tried right now, i hit the car in reverse, not to fast and put it in drive, at a slow speed so the trans dont die and then floor it, i get some wheel spin but it lasts a second, what i do is go on a hill, hit neutrel then drive while rolling down and i get some real smoke going lol
Carguy393
07-08-2003, 09:22 PM
It doesnt take much torque to smoke the tires just a five speed

pull the ebrake up and then punch it

dont do any of this unless you want a fryed motor or rear brakes or a 400+ degree tranny, ,ya know, where your seals turn to carbon

lol i got a old beater 82 gmc 1/2 ton with a 305 auto in it.
standard brakes. and it takes work to do a burnout, but she does em pretty good.
anyways, holding the brakes while hitting hte gas isnt all that terrible for your brakes. think, its the same thing when you slow down on teh highway. it is tough on the engine though.

Don't feel to bad about it my S-10 won't spin the tires either. Doesn't even do it on that surface on the drag strip, I tried just stomping it out of the hole and nothing really happened.
I wouldn't worry about it anyways you don't need to ruin your tires showing off.

i can burn out in my cav as seen in my sig (the blue one)

The only reason I do it is at the drag strip. What I don't agree with is goin from neutral or reverse into drive. You'll fuck the HELL out of your tranny really quickly. Don't do that one anymore.

But if you pull the e-brake , it will fuck the HELL out of your brakes really quickly (if it is FF). Any technique used as a burnout will ruin your car one way or the other, but I am not too sure about pushing down the brakes hard and flooring the throttle though

To do a burnout in automatic put your car in neutral press the accelerator pedal and shift quickly into Drive or first gear option while still pushing the accelerator pedal!!!

God only knows how much your car hates you for this abuse...wait until you have something with some balls and if you really want to burn out so bad then look for a 6 or 8 cylinder...8 especially and a manual...
an older 5.0 mustang or something would be very good for burning out...thats actually about all they are good for :loser: ...just kidding...they are good cars, just not something i want...but if you just want to fuck around they are really fun...my friend and I were following a slightly moded 5.0 and he was going about 20 and he stepped on it and spun the tires...so the car does have some balls...at least his did :evillol: ...
I think he took off so fast because my friend turned on his strobe lights...maybe they thought we were a cop or something ahahahaha

2 ways that ive done in an auto
goto neutral rev it high drop into 1st or drive
go into reverse as fast as you can go drop into 1st or drive (note probly bad for car)
autos are not much fun its why i own a manuel

I can't "burnout" but I can punch the gas from a stop and spin through the intersection. I've tried to use the ebrake but it just drags the back tires while spinning the front so I leave two sets of marks on the road.
......on another note I have about 2 weeks of life left the the trans :evillol:

You guys are CRAZY who are talking about reving it in neutral and "D" shifting or going from "R" to "D"!!!
If the guy Anton is asking about doing a burnout on the street, I would try doing a brake stand (but he did already right?). Thats the proper way to launch an automatic car. Every auto's torque converter is different. You hold the brake and apply the gas until the point where the drive wheels start to move (or you feel them starting to fight the brakes). That is the converter's limit and when you would floor the gas & let the brakes go.
But as I think was mentioned this guys car just doesn't have the balls to do anything? Oh well.
The only other thing I would attempt to try that would FUCK the car up the least would be (like someone already said) to pull the E brake - which would lock up the rear tires - and floor the gas and hope the tires slip and start peeling. I've done that before in my winter beater '93 Subaru 1.8L shitbox. You're basically pulling the locked up rear tires.
This may help him achieve a burnout but would look SUPER FUCKING IDIOTIC to anyone watching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :loser:  :screwy:  :shakehead :grinyes: :uhoh: :iceslolan

My car has a 3-speed auto and it has no problem burning out.
4500 lbs, 2.93 rear, BFG tires. Not a problem, I got a 455!
Check the video.

e-braking it will not fuck up your tranny, or your engine.
I would just push the clutch in..... oh, wait, I forgot we weren't talking about real cars.... nevermind.

For the life of me I don't understand wanting to do burn outs unless your having problems hooking up and need to get your tires hot and sticky. I love it when someone smokes there tires when I'm racing, cause they lose traction and I win. Watch the AA/F dragsters, do they smoke there tires? I don't think so, the one that does usually is the loser.

What about a late 90s automatic BMW? Could I just punch the gas to get the wheels spinning or should I have the brake in and hit the gas?
drdisque
05-14-2005, 12:59 AM
if you just hit the gas you would probably just chirp the tires, if you want to burn some rubber you'll have to hold the brake as well, be careful though, I bet the BMW has some pretty beefy rear brakes that will get really hot during a brake stand burnout.

I have a 2006 GMC Envoy SLT that has rear wheel drive with auto trans. does anyone know how i could get it to burnout?
Would i just have to put it in drive and hold the brake and floor it to get a burn out, or do i need to do something else?

Wow this thread is chock full of bad info and morons. If you can't burn the tires by standing on the throttle you don't need to be trying to. All you are going to do is screw crap up. And remember smoking the tires while your racing means you are wasting valuable time hence "If your spinnin you ain't winnin". Burnouts are for slicks on drag cars and pussies whoi think their fast which one are you? Oh and by the way, automatics trump sticks any day of the week you break too much stuff with a stick that is if you've got a car with any kind of power.

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus SES. I can burout in it if its a little wet outside but other than that how would i do it without messing the car up at all btw its an auto
drdisque
12-17-2007, 12:41 AM
Tauruses are pretty difficult to do burnouts in because the rear brakes are so weak. Basically you want to do what you were doing but with the e-brake engaged. But I'm telling you, it won't work well because of the weak brakes.
Nightwolf1772
12-17-2007, 09:13 AM
so having the Ebrake on wont hurt it basicly what i do now is wait till the roads get alittle wet then just punch it
drdisque
12-17-2007, 04:33 PM
any burnout stresses your transmission to some extent since the transmission and engine are getting hot with no airflow to cool them down, but doing it the way I described won't put a LOT of stress on it.
