For those of you who convert high quality 1/24th diecasts into very good models here is a new series of F1 cars only available at newsstands in Italy or off ebay Italy. The 1/24th scale series is up to number 30 now with the release of the Ferrari 312T 1975 champion model car. Overall the quality is very high and the accuracy alot better than the old Revell Germany 1/24th F1 kits. Paint is almost perfect and graphics applied very nicely. These are 1/24th scale collector models not BBurago style toys.

Here is the website and several furums with pictures of the models. Hachette also does a very good rally series in 1/24th scale and also do the 1/24th scale Bellkits molds. They know what they are doing.

They plan 60 1/24th scale F1 cars so far and you can only get them on ebay Italy unless you live in Italy. Not very expensive either.

Hachette has just added 20 more cars in the regular 1/24th F1 series. So now 80 1/24th F1 cars. I will tell you these diecasts are better quality than the old Revell kits and even some Hasegawa and Fujimi kits in 1/24th scale. Buy the BT46B or Lotus 79 and judge for yourself. As I said, I re detail my models to make them very presentable.

Hachette has also rumored a 60 car 1/24th Ferrari F1 collection starting in 2023. These are not junk Burago diecasts, but highly detailed collector models that can be a base for a great super detailed curbside with a small effort. Decals available from Indycals and pattosplace or save as much of the models decals as you can when re detailing, they are that good.

little by little i'm buying some of theme. On my youtube channel i do the die cast review of those ones. Nice models, still very far away to collector level imho. In november 22 they will do a 312 t4.

They do need some added detail but the paint and graphics are very well done and in alot of cases can be used.

Check out the Hachette rally cars also. The bodies are more accurate than the old Tamiya kits. R5 Turbo Hachette much better to name one. You under estimate these models in your video. Toys can be more accurate than a kit depending on who made them. The suspension is the worst part on that March but it is better on other F1 models. Keep buying them and you will see what I mean.

I do think these are as good as most of the old F1 1/24th plastic kits in accuracy other than Rosso. Way above BBurago style diecasts for sure. Some are better than others. I think the BT46, Tyrrell 006 and Lotus 79 are top quality curbsides. You have to go over all of them and add small details but a Top Quality model is possible with these diecasts. A gift to us from Hachette, a company that also makes plastic kits for other companies.

Nice video....

Not really. I just took the last F2004 and will prepare soon a comparison video with my ordinary build of the Revell F2003ga. On the Hachette models there are some dramatic build mistakes, and not cause packaging.
The Ferrari of this series are a must of course and on 1:24 scale. wonderful to see them together with other types of cars.

I well know also the rally series, taking several of them (too many honestly..). Also, Burago is indeed a dilemma. some models are stunning (shapes mostly, clearly done after company 3d files), very well taken, and sometimes also very well assembled. Just took here a stunning sp1 Monza, simply fantastic, as well as their Roma. Impossible miss theme, especially at 20 euros.

I don't think I under estimate theme, never. The proof is I'm buying a lot of theme. The value for money is simply amazing. In ordinary kit modeling for 20 euros you cant get a set of resin wheels.

Note there has been also a test series (I read was made for Spanish market only) where they tried with 60s sports car and prototypes. They made a stunning model of the ford gt40 mk.1 1075 that IMO is simply the best ever around in 24th. Just the wheels are as usual little bit toyish, but the overall look is seriously the nicest. Miles away from any fujimi or meng models, talking of shapes.

It really is amazing we could not get alot of the rally and F1 cars in kits but now they do them all as very good diecasts. By the way, that BBurago SP1 has the same direction directional wheels on both sides, so big mistake but the model is very nice overall. It looks like it should have a motor. Maybe some markets have a motor on the SP1 just like the Roma has a motor in some markets. Strange for them to do that. Anyway I keep buying the F1 and I hope they do a Lemans series. Yes that GT40 is very nice, again more accurate that the Fujimi kit in almost every way.

will not be surprised if in the future those models will be slightly modified and cloned in resin . bodies are really nicely done. have still a long wish list of those ones to buy.

In a different scale (1:18) also Solido started to do incredibly nice objects.
I've just purchased their RWB porsche 964, for 35 euros. Incredibly nice and stunning look...

To go along with the Hachette 1/24th Ferrari 312T I found this figure maker. Very good quality Niki Lauda 1/24th figure. Also have several 1/12th and 1/8th figures.

I found this guy in Japan who makes videos of most of the Deagostini 1/24th F1 models. They say on their website 80 1/24th F1 models, but they have updated that now to 150 models.

They do supply tobacco decals for the model wich he shows on the end of the video. Paint and finish is very good for a diecast, perfect for reworking and detailing+ clearcoat.

Remember this is the same company that does the Belkits models so they do know how to make good models.

We just hit the halfway point at number 40 for the two series of 1/24th F1 model subscriptions. The quality keeps getting better and better. Rumors of more than 80 1/24th F1 cars are still unconfirmed.

This week the 1/24th Matra MS80 from 1969. I already have the FPPM kit in 1/24th scale but this Hachette model has some things I like better and some things I like less. We also have the Ferrari F1 and Lemans winners 1/24th Hachette collections still coming for next year if rumors are true. Top quality diecasts and good starting points for great models.

Hachette has now announced they will release the 1/24th F1 newstand collection as the IXO F1 1/24th series for the world. The first 3 are out, the Tyrell P34 Belgium 1977, Mclaren M23 Canada 1976 and Lotus 72 British GP. This should make them easier to get. We are up to number 42 of 80 planned so far with the 1/24th Ferrari F1 series also coming in 2023.

Hachette also makes Bellkits, and these are much like those kits in detail, but curbside and assembled with tobacco sponsors included.

I have the 3 IXO 1/24th F1 models and I think they are slightly better than the newstand models. They have a much better display case included and the Lotus 72 has double gold ring Firestone tires, the Hachette newstand had single gold rings. From pictures I found they ran both styles in 1972, and on some races no rings on the inside tires just like the IXO model. Amazing quality for the money, a gift from Hachette to F1 collectors.

More information. They have confirmed the Ferrari 1/24th F1 collection starting in December 2022!!! This is the second series of F1 in 1/24th offered by Hachette IXO. I expect to see IXO also release some of these under their new 1/24th F1 line. Can't wait for the 1/24th Lemans winner collection to start also.

Wow is this latest Hachette 1/24 F1 Alfa 177 nice!! Not my favorite Alfa F1 version, I like the 179 alot better but they really put alot of detail in this model. Maybe the best yet? We have about 15 top contenders now.

The top 10 IMO best Hachette F1 1/24th models so far.... These are all as good or better than any curbside plastic kits I have seen. Look at the crisp details. And those lucky collectors in Italy pay 30 Euro with no tax from the newstand!!

Lotus 79 1978
Brabhan BT46B
Alfa 177
Tyrrell 005
Lotus 72
Braun 2009
Williams FW08
Brabham BT52B
Hesketh 308B
Ferrari 312 1976

I see a trend that maybe Hachette likes 1970's and 1980's cars best.

they just updated the serie. There will be 80 issues instead of 60. the last ferrari 156/85 is simply wonderful.
in the same way they also started a similar serie on only ferrari in 1:24. the difference is 5 euro cause they all have a very nice solid plastic showcase that previousgenerical formula 1 serie didnt had.

the last issue Ijust got is the t4 from gilles villeneuve.

you will find all my video review on my youtube channel, both in english and italian

Hi LoveGT40,

They do seem to love the 1970 and 1980 F1 cars best. I hope we can get a complete F1 driver's championship out of this series in 1/24th. That would be amazing, and we are getting closer. The extra 20 models should bring us close.

I am trying to talk IXO into doing all the F1 champions from 1950-2022 in 1/24th for international sale. They have alot of the cars done already in the newstand releases. IXO seems to do slightly better on their own versions of the Hachette releases. Slightly better finish and detail overall.

Centauria from Italy newstand IXO Hachette 1/24th F1 coming models have an extension from 61 to 80. Some interesting cars and 8 more World Drivers champion cars. I like the extra odd cars such as the Arrows A2, Tyrell 011(I suspect Detroit) and Ligier JS 11.

If you do not know how good the quality of these F1 models is you owe yourself a purchase of one. The last Brabham BT45 model is stunning, although the real car was not very good.

Maybe when we get to 100 1/24th F1 cars they will extend it again:) That list that was given a month or so ago might be pretty accurate, so with the added new cars we are still missing 15 or so cars.

Getting closer to a complete 1/24th F1 drivers championship collection!!

They vary, but most are very good and others amazing for diecasts.1956 D50 is out at the end of October.

FYI, Museum Collection has a number of decals made for the Hachette 1/24th F1 models for those wishing to add details. The 126CK wheel and photoetch/decal T-kit is also still available and it is very nice indeed!!

With the Meng kit announcement of a Mclaren MP4/4 full detail in 1/24th scale 1/24th F1 is looking better and better. Keep them coming.

Finally you can put your F1 and sportscars together with the same scale.

Hachette added the LOTUS 80 Mario Andretti 1979 to the 1/24th model release list. They say there will be an extension of 20 cars to the regular F1 car collection along with a 20 car extension to the Ferrari F1 1/24th collection. That makes a total of 200 1/24th F1 cars in the collection. I think IXO will continue their own 1/24th series of F1 cars also. Maybe use the news stand models to do a complete world champion collection in 1/24th scale for the entire world, not just Italy and a few other lucky countries.

The latest 1/24th F1 model updates from Hachette Italy, available on ebay.

Looks like Hachette will add 20 more F1 cars to the 1/24th scale series and 20 more F1 cars to the Ferrari F1 series making the total 200 F1 cars in 1/24th scale. Amazing little models, if you have not bought one try on the IXO website and buy the 1/24th Lotus 72 F1 model to see how good the quality is. Or go on ebay Europe for many 1/24th model listings. You will be amazed at the quality. I add details to the models I get, and sometimes repaint and re decal as many 1/24th F1 decals are available aftermarket. Here are the best ones I have found:

So now the people at Hachette are spreading rumors the regular 1/24th F1 series will go to 140 cars and the Ferrari series 100 cars, for a total of 240 1/24th F1 cars. I think we will get 1 F1 Ferrari from every year and all the Drivers' Championship cars in 1/24th scale. Add FPPM and Fernando Pinto and we will also get most of the pre war open wheel Driver Championship cars in 1/24th scale along with several Indy cars. Add to that almost everything outside of F1 cars in either 1/43rd, 1/24th or 1/18th you might want to re consider 1/24th scale for everything in the larger scales as they make a lot of model kits in 1/24th scale and almost no 1/18th scale model kits. Even the Renault Espace F1 minivan model kit is 1/24th scale.

Mike Quarterman of UMI's dream is finally coming true. I wish he had lived long enough to see it happen. He did get the first few Hachette 1/24th scale F1 models before he passed away.
