Pioneer CD Player Install in 1997 Grand AM

Hello Everyone:

I was wondering what parts, tools, and the process to install my Pioneer headunit into my 1997 Grand AM GT. I have already removed the receiver from my Acura. I am just trying to save a few bucks and install it myself. Thanks for the help in advance.

I just recently installed an Eclipse deck in my 96 grand am, you're gonna need a few things not too bad. First off you'll need a wiring harness to adapt to the GM harness and if your pioneer is DIN size which is most likely the case. You're gonna need an in dash kit to fit it in the stock location. You will also need a GM antenea adaptor due to the different size slots. It wasn't all that expensive best idea is to buy it all in a kit. Cruthfield's online is a good place to check out. Now to take out the radio you just need to undo the screws under the steering coloum and in that little compartment just above the gearshift, then the plastic piece will pop from under the dash, just becareful when pulling out the light dimmer switch to the left.
