It depends!
I tend to buy "up" for:
- Parts for a vehicle I intend to keep a long time
- Safety-related parts (i.e., brakes)
- Part manufacturers who have a good reputation
- Parts where my labor factor is high (i.e., I don't want to have to do it again)
I tend to buy "down" for:
- Parts for "nice to have" features that aren't necessary and that I don't care about very much
- Vehicles that I don't intend to keep in my driveway for a long time
- Quick-and-dirty fixes where quality or safety aren't big concerns

Another Rock Auto feature: Rock Auto magnets!
Your order will come with a magnet featuring a picture of a Rock Auto customer's project car. If you keep busy with your car projects, you may discover that your refrigerator starts running out of space.
