2000 4l60e swap 99 old body style chevy 1500

I bought a 2000 4l60e transmission came off a 5.3 i want to know if it will bolt up without issue or what i need to do to put it in my 99 old body style 305 4x4 k1500..

Are you certain the '99 has the 5.0 Vortec?

If so, the bell hosing and depth of the TC on the transmission will be different. If the donor transmission has a bolt-on bell housing, it should make life easier.

Yes. Ty for reply 99 k1500 old body style 5.0. and donor tranny has removable bell housin as its 2000 both 4l60E .. But was told there was diffrence in shaft ? Just sick of dumping $ and need assurance of what i need to do to make the 2000 5.3 4l60e replace my old one ..

I just looked this up since I do have all the paper work on a 2000 GMC/CHEV trucks and the GM shop manual. I do own one since 2000. If this 1999 GM truck has a 5.0L engine then its some hack job.. then you will be in a bad position to figure all this out. I would like to KNOW what PCM it has ? then the 4L60 does require it to communicate to the PCM .. GOOD LUCK... if the connector to tranny matches the carbody connector then it should work . perhaps you are not correct on the 5.0L ..nbs is 1999-2006

before you put tranny in make sure the connector is the same .

OBS vs NBS? 99-00 were transition years. Many OBS's could be VIN'd as '99 or'00 and the same could happen to the NBS's. With that being said, your OBS '99 VIN'd truck with a 5.0 would be correct and not a "hack job".

My VIN'd '99 K2500 Sub was an OBS with the 7.4. A close friend has an OBS VIN'd '00 K2500 truck with the 7.4. So go figure!!

ya the suburban was OBS in 1999. not pick up truck my guess its a 1998 . if so the tranny connector will not be working with the 2000 transmission is from a pick up truck.

if you do have the 5L engine then it will not fit. measure the transmissions size , check the connectors if the same it should work . I doubt it will be the same .

using the vin# should also help .
