Drifting, the sport driving of morons?

I rescently visited a drift contest and noticed what a clever way of robbing the consumer. I see all these kids lining up like a bunch of pickled mush-heads, to buy tires, and then shred them in a very short time. What a way for the tire companies to make money. They where actually selling tires at the event, and mounted them for free! I guess their tires were not wearing down fast enough in autocrossing so they had to invent a new sport. Hey I got a new idea, how about drifting on glass? The inane contestants drink awhole bunch of beers and then they break the bottles on the floor, and then they get in their cars with new Yokohama mamas and drift! man that would rule!

.....If they got the money..Why not? isn't it there perogative on how they want to spend it..You may think it's stupid to use some brand new neova's and wrekk them...but other people think it was money well spent..

drifting has been drifting even before tire companies were aware of it. you can say the same for APC, for selling all their shit. You can say the same for 100 different aftermarket companies.

welcome to america my friend... thats how we rock it here... if there's a chance of making some money you go for it... or your either an idiot or a hypocrite.:loser:

if you don't like it, go cry somewhere else. we like it, and we don't care if you don't like it. yeah it eats up tires, but so do other forms of motorsports. whoop de shit.

last time I checked drag racing ate up tires preeettty bad too..I mean...first you SMOKE YOUR TIRES...unless you got normal street composition tires...then you factor in wheelspin while shifting...and the overall damage and wear and tear it does to your transmission....it's almost as costly..However if you're a good drifter...you can just go through tires and clutches...all relativley cheap when compared to transmission problems....like Nob AKA No One's Better and his S15...The S15's Sr20DET has a fairly crappy 6 speed transmission when you compare it to the previous model Sr20DET trannies..but he's yet to brake his drifting...As I recall he broke his first one testing it in the 1/4 mile...

You came here just to flame on drifting? Well now everyone gonna flame on you asshole.

Why would you waste your time? Do you think that everyone here is against drifting. Thats it! This forum was created for drift haters. Yeah and they forgot to put the "hating" part at the end of the name of the forum. :headshake :disappoin

haha you're a big LOSER mate. The amount of fun you have while Drifting makes up for the cost of the crappy tires you shred. Go cry somewhere else if you don't understand or respect Drifting as a great motorsport.

haha I'm with everyone else on what they're saying. You're making yourself very prone to flaming and well we won't stop. Drifting has been around for a pretty long time and like jdmkenji said it has been here way before the companies were aware of it. Who gives a crap if the "kids" want to go spend their money on tires after they're done drifting. They're having a good time while doing it so why does it matter? They can do whatever they want with their money so let em do it. So like everone else has to say go to somewhere else and complain about this to someone other then the DRIFTING FORUM you loser :loser: .
