Under Glow Lights

Hey, Guys I've been having some issues installing some under glow lights on my mazda 6. I bought some a standard 7 color four piece LED light strips on amazon and they have a few box so i just ran them through the battery but they shorted out does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to best wire LED underflows
