...an '04 Cavalier 4 door with manual transmission. The miles are incredibly low and I never recall seeing a 4 door with manual.

A few questions:
How rare are the 4 door manuals in this year?
Can I add some horses to this Ecotech engine? I like the engine, and I feel like I literally got a steal with the price and mileage, but it doesn't have as much pop as my '96 Z24.
I'd like to get it up at least horses wise to around where my straight away (unaltered) DOHC 2.4 Z24 was, if not higher. Driving the stick is so much fun but it will be even funner if I can get the horses up around 165 or so (if that's even possible).
One of the best days of my life today...second was when I bought my mint condition Z24 - that car went 10 years with only a starter and alt replacement (until this summer when the water pump went).

I have a 2002 base model 4 door 5 speed. I have the OHV engine, though.
