Here it is finished. A great example of Tamiya at the height of its powers in the early 80s. I remember looking at this in the 1980(?) catalogue all broken down in to parts and thinking I’d never be able to build the 1/12th series.
Well this isn’t the first I’ve done (far from it), but it is amongst the most complex. Some of the build was really tricky, and I made a few mistakes, but the photos hide those…
Straight out of the (1990 issue) box, I just added the p/e and some new decals from the recent reissue. Painted with all Tamiya paints.
I just need somewhere to put it now!

I see that your upper cowling doesn't mate up to the side panels very well.I had the same problem when I built my example back in the 80s.The odd part was that I had been test fitting it through the build and until the model was finished it DID fit fine!I never have figured out what caused the problem.

I have one of these in my stash without the PE sheet.
Did you have any pics of the brakes where one front and one rear wheel is off?
or close up pics of the engine or trans-axle?
lastly - maybe it's just the pics, but the rear wing looks tilted backwards a little bit to me.
Cheers

Great looking model!! I would sand down the tire to get rid of the mold line if possible.

I've looked at the tires in this Tamiya kit and the rubber is very thin.
It's still possible to do, but also easy to screw up
Cheers
