McLaren F1 GTR 1995 LeMans

Here's yet another #24 Fujimi McLaren F1 GTR kit. When Fujimi recently announced the F1 LM (a holy grail, even if Fujimi's kit isn't exactly stellar) I decided I'd build this for this year's LeMans palooza. It's predominantly OOB, I did use Tabu decals for the stripes/Gulf logos because the orange on Fujimi's decals was...red. I also revised the side skirts (shaved off the comical Fujimi skirts, glued on styrene strips), but as they dried they got a bit too vertical. I lowered the suspension, but need to lower it even more on the next one because once assembled the chassis doesn't sit as low. Plans are to build the white Gulf car from Paul Ricard, and the F1 LM.

Paint is decanted TS-89 metallic blue over Mr. Surfacer 1500 black; the secondary color is decanted TS 88 (?) Titanium Silver. Wheels are Testors Go Mango...perhaps they should be fluorescent? Regardless, I'm happy with the model, one of my favorite liveries on one of my favorite cars. I had to live 20 years w/only the 1/43 and 1/18 scale diecasts before I could realize this car in the correct scale :rolleyes::cwm27:

Like colors and livery! I still refuse to buy Fujimi's McLaren given its flaws.
