04 Impala Battery Drain - RT IP #3 fuse is the problem

Ok, so I just put a multimeter between the negative terminal and the battery lead and pulled every fuse one at a time until I found what was causing my battery drain. I came up with RT I/P #3. I guess it stands for Right Instrument Panel. But all the diagrams I look at, it appears the only thing that one circuit powers is the rear defrosters. Does anyone know of a common fix that this circuit would drain the battery fast? (If I let my car sit for 3-5 days, the battery is dead.)
Before I pulled the RT I/P fuse, my car was pulling over 20 mA. As soon as I pulled that fuse, it dropped down to around 0.7 mA. But I guess looking around at other posts, some people say that 20 mA is acceptable. I'm just getting sick of dead batteries.

I think I found it. I got to thinking RT I/P could be a lot more than the rear defrosters contrary to the schematics. I then thought I hadn't checked the fuses in the passenger door, which is probably where the RT I/P fuse under the hood goes to. I then tested all the fuses there and the radio seems to be the culprit.

Everything I have read 20ma isn't that much to kill a battery in 3-5 days. You can have an alternator that passes the charging test but has a bad diode that will kill a battery with key off.

Well, I went to Best Buy and ordered a new after market radio to replace the factory radio to see if that's the problem. I kind of wanted it anyways. I got one that has bluetooth and aux in on the front of the radio and it should look pretty factory-ish because it's a double din radio. I'm scheduled for them to install it next Friday. Until I'll drive around with the radio's fuse pulled out.

I agree.....25ma and under is acceptable.....something like a glove box light will pull about 2.5A or 2500ma......

how long did you have the battery before this battery issue started happening. Did you check to make sure the charging system was functioning correctly?

The battery that was in the car when this happened was about 2 months old. My battery charger checks the alternator.
