Overall, how is the 08 Kia Rio?

I am looking for a used car and came across the 08 Kia Rio. KBB values it at around $4500-$5000. The car I'm looking at has 63k miles and a clean title. She is the only owner, and says she hasn't experienced any problems. I've read a lot of reviews, and seen the safety ratings but there are so many out there, I don't know what to think. I don't know how to filter through who is just complaining for the sake of complaining and who actually has legitimate concerns. Please help.

I have one the same year. It has 630k on it and I am on the 3rd engine and tranny in it. It's a good driver. I saw a report on these and they are rated at 4.5 stars out of 5. Toyota Yaris, 4.7 stars. Nissan Versa, 4 stars and Chevy Aveo, 3.7 stars. I would give the Toyota a real run for it's money :iceslolan:iceslolan
My original engine got up to 375k while the transmission blew at 178k
I put in a used tranny which had 72k on it. I put and additional 9
196k on it
Engine #2 went in at 375k, as well as a brand new transmission
Engine #2 developed a bad oil leak at the oil pump gasket at 467k and I swapped it out for a JDM engine with 48k
Currently, it sits at 630k
the engine is at 211k now
Transmission is at 256k
I am now trying to resolve an overdrive issue with it now, but it still runs and drives fine. I just have to drive like an old man and keep it at the speed limit :iceslolan:iceslolan
