I have to change the valve cover on my daughters car and will also like to change the plugs at the same time.

Its a 2004 grand Cherokee with the 4.0 6 cylinder.

pep boys showa champion #438 for the plug. I would like to stay with the OEM plug.

Getting the parts at Pep Boys where my other daughter works get 20% discount not much but it helps.

I did not pull the plugs yet as this will be done in the morning and she is using the car at the moment for the day.

I have the gasket just need a correct plug # OEM for this 2004 4.0 engine.

thanks

My '04 came with NGK ZFR5N, never a problem with the plugs and I changed according to maintenance book at 30k miles.

In the 4.0, stay away from any iridium, platinum, or fancy plugs and just get the cheap 1.95 or 2.95 plugs. The high dollar plugs are known to cause misfires; there are several guys here and elsewhere that tried them, then switched right back to the NGK or Champion.
