4.3 intake

a Brother from church was telling me about the intake on his Blazer leaking, and how much it cost to have it repaired. i did some digging around, and found that the "merc cruser" line of 4.3 engines have a 1 piece aluminum fuel injected manifold, rather than the plastic one they use in street engines. is there any reason that one of these could not be used rather than plastic? my blood brother has a ford with a plastic manifold, but we can not find anything aftermarket for that to replace it, and he hates the thought of putting another plastic manifold back on it. i do not blame him. especially at the cost. so for now, it sits. it may end up junk yard material.

Call the manufacturer of the aluminum intake and check if it will fit.

Without any specifics on the year,model,mileage I would think that conversion/swap would be a long shot. Marine and hiway engines are designed for a different set of performance and emission standards. A new,properly installed aftermarket plastic manifold will probably out last the car at a lot less cost than a Mercruiser part.
