Car trouble is getting nerve wracking

I drive a 2006 Volkswagen Golf with a manual transmission, with the 2.0L 4 cylinder engine. Unfortunately, the other week the engine overheated because of a failed cooling pump, which cost me $500 to fix. Before that, the radiator had been replaced because it was corroded away, and the coolant was leaking, causing the low coolant warning light to illuminate. The radiator also cost around $500 to replace. Now, the car is getting very sluggish acceleration despite having topped it off with plenty of motor oil and making sure that the tires are inflated. It could be that the overheated engine damaged the spark plugs, but I'm not entirely sure if that's the case, since I'm not a mechanic. Also, the steering wheel is very loose, and the car is becoming increasingly difficult to drive. I pray in Jesus' name that I will be able to pay to fix whatever the current problem with it is.

too much oil can be almost as bad as too little. is it between the lines on the dipstick?
