Well I've seen them in the following cars.

Supra, 180sx, 200sx, All skyline models, VL Commedor

I would imagine you can fit it in any car who's engine bay can accept an I6.

I've also seen it in a Z32 ('90-'96) Nissan 300ZX but I lost the picture so I'm trying to find it to post it up.
I also saw it in a Silvia S14. It was C-West's car, I saw it In either Super Street Magazine or Sport Compact Car. I think it was Sport Compact Car.

i got pics of a 350z with a rb26dett in it its like an older version of the engine maybe from a r32 , but with that engine in there the bay has more room because the vq engine is larger

Hey Randy, go back to the .org:wink:

Don't forget about the 1st gen Maxima. It had the 240Z's engine. Since you can fit an RB into the Datsun Zs, I don't see why you couldn't do the same to the '81-'84 Maximas.

Too bad that sucker is so ugly. :iceslolan

I'd rather have a RB26DETT in a 510....... :bloated:

A RWD Maxima?

Got any pics?
It sounds like an early Skyline or Cefiro, or Cedric type thing.

All the Maximas sold in Japan, NZ, and as far as I know Europe have been FWD, and were released in I think 84???

The first Generation Maximas were RWD.

The Datsun Maxima, by Nissan. :)

LOL! :spit:

The mighty Nissan Laural lives!

They are still common enough here in NZ. All of them are used Jap imports, and most of them are Desiels. They are all rusty, smelly, slow and if you paid more than NZ$500 for a mint one you got ripped off.
Fortunatly the mostly reside in the lower income areas.

They are a Japanese answer to the big Yank Tanks, and are based on an old Skyline platform (floor plan, and driveline) they are also the father of the Cefiro.

Doin' it G.I stylez bro!

But seriously I remember the mid-80's Laurel diesel that resided down the road from me- the damn thing choked me every morning with freaking desiel smoke- thank god for the day the Holden ute sideswiped it and wrote it off!

Didn't some versions come with an RB25???

Those being the A31's right?

I thought the early pertrol Laurals had the old 280Z motor, from when it still looked like it had been pulled from an early Mercedes (which it was).
They had the old Pressed steel cam cover.
The 2nd generation Laural when the Cefiro was also first released would have had the later RB engine where Nissan first but thier own cam cover design on them, would have been the same engine that was in the VL commonhores.

I talked to the Nissan wrecker next door the other day, and the first Laural (maxima in the US) had the last of the 2.8l L series engines.

Bascily the same as in the old 240z. Which means a Twin Cam 6 from any 60s-70s Mercedes will bolt straight in, or with a little work and a conversion of Fuel injection any of the RB engines will also work.

I have to admit that an RB26dett powered Laural would be one hell of a laugh, especialy pulling 13s at the drags. :D

Not really.:disappoin

Given enough time and money, maybe. After all, '03 Cobra motors are being shved into Ford Foci now, along with a conversion to rwd. Of course, the conversion costs around $60k.

What model Datsun? It'll fit just fine into a Z. The RB is actually a distant relative of the original Z's L6 motor.

It fits in the 240Z and the 280Z as far as I know. that would be an awesome swap. What a sleeper!

a Nissan Stagea....

Theres already an RS version of the Stagea complete with AWD and an RB26dett.
Not a common car, but theres one stashed in a garage a few houses down the road from me.

And of course like the Cefiro all the Stagea models have some form of an RB engine in them.
