I'm rich

My rich grandmother is dead:frown: R.I.P.
My rich grandmother has inherited to me 43.000 $ plus an old Vespa 50 special:bigthumb:
Whohooo! I'm rich!!!!!
What can I do with this money?
Let me think, let me think, let me think..........I got it!!
I'll leave the 200sx as my daily car and I'll buy a last gen. rx-7 to make it a drift king.
Lots of people told me that the rx-7 has a fragile engine and it is thirsty, so I'm going to buy a rx-8's motor and put it into the rx-7; can I do it?
How much costs an Rx-8 motor?
-I'm going to do this because I hate the body of the rx-8 with those stupid 4 doors, but I like its new concept of rotary, most strong and less thirsty, with better performances.

If you weren't in Italy I'd ask for the Vespa, then I'd not have to bother with a spare wheel, if a tire goes flat I'd just pull out the scooter and ride. Sorry about your grandmother - at least she was rich and generous.

well if I had 40k your plane maybe feasible, but it would probably take up all your money, then when it breaks, you can't fix it lol....
Spend 20k and make a decent car... if your in drifting I assume you know about the S chassis cars.... 20k including purchase price would make an awesome S13/14 Silvia.
If your serious about an FD with an engine swap..... check out these guys from Petit Racing. My dad has a shop accross the street from them and I see some pretty wicked stuff. These guys basically build race cars for sebring etc... and they do some cool street cars too. They have a stretched FD limosine that is actually fast, but would interest you the most is what they call the Banzai Rx-7.
They put in a 3 rotor and turbocharge it.
They build a new crossmember for the engine and mount everything so it looks stock. These guys do some quality work!

The three rotor engine is classified as the 20B, the (most common) two rotor is the 13B. To best understand it, just think of the rotor as a piston (although they are NOTHING alike), an 8 cylinder is generally thought to be able to produce more power than a 6 cylinder. The three rotor is essentially a two rotor with an extra rotor, therefor it is simply a larger displacement engine, and generally capable of producing more power.

You've got to be kidding right?
A corolla GT-S could be bought, restored, and converted to a 4AGZE block with new internals and turbo charged along with a full suspension for $10,000 or less.

not a D1 car or something like the Signal S15(which I hear costs almost half a million)....
but for 40k you could make one hell of a badass street car if you bought an older import with potential.

Why not invest the money? Assuming you are young you could make a lot out of that now.
I inherited 75k from my mother when she passed last sept - I invested it and since I am only 19 I will be able to retire with over 25 million. That is also assuming I put no more money in either.
Be wise and have enough to buy a porsche later... (or anything else that might suit your fancy)

WTF? yeah there are people I dont think are idoits, the other 750,000 whatever the number is people on this forum I dont say are idiots. I dont need your smartass comments.
I have no respect for people like this guy. He is happy that his grandma died so his lazy ass wont have to work for anything. And to top it off, he is bragging about how she left him money.
I'm sick of people buying rotaries that dont know what they are doing. Everytime something goes wrong with them, they take them to someone else to get it fixed that doesnt know what they are doing. That is why there are so many in junk yards right now. If people knew anything, there would be a hell of a lot more of these cars on the road.
Oh, and BTW the new Evos are a POS. Some guy just got one and blew the engine in it already.

Parts don't make a car, it's the building and tuning the really count. There are so many differences between a street car with lots of new parts and an actual professional race car that no one ever mentions. look at this Corolla, only 210HP and it cost $100,000 not counting the incredible amount of money that would go into labour if you had someone else do it.
Thats a LOT of welding. (http://www.club4ag.com/faq%20and%20tech_pages/IIda%20AE86%20project.htm)

Um, lets see here, you drive a Cougar. Therefore you are obviously an uninformed consumer and it would be a waste of my time to come up with a list of pros and cons between these two engines. If you cannot come up with the simple logic of why you should have bought something else, then there is no way you can fathom the information i can pull out for you.
Besides, I was making one observation about one isolated incident where an EVo with less than 5K miles grenaded its engine...
If you really want to push the issue, then get up, look in the mirror and say to yourself... It is Saturday and i am going to spend all day on the autoforums because i am an addicted junky and have no life...
Admitting your problems is the first step... Both in addicitions and in believeing falsehoods like the quality of MItsubishi motors.
That is all i am going to say about this, no more reply posts etc... i feel doing so would beinciting a flame war, and i fear that i would be removed from the auto forums, thusly i would not be able to fee my addictions

I'm split on this one, Dayna240sx; you do know your stuff, I have seen some good posts by you. But on the other hand, I have also seen neutrino post some pretty good stuff. I do, however, agree with neutrino that saying all mitsubishi motors suck is an over generalization.
And Dorikin, why are ALL of your posts so asinine? Not flaming you or anything, but every post I have seen you make is generally to tell someone to shut the f up, or stop posting.
Also, dayna, in your avatar, what is that? I can see the rotor housing and the bell housing of a tranny, but what is the white thing? It kind of looks like a HUGE turbo to me, but I can hardly see it. Like from a cummins TD or something.

Hey, dayna240sx, I don't think I'm a idiot, the only who could be an idiot are you, because i know More things that you can imagine about motors, expecially rotary ones and if you were more careful you could see that the topic of this thread, you could see that was "putting an rx-8 motor under an rx-7 bonnet", this because the rx-7 motor has a different disposal of the aspiration lights, which are in the side of the cylinder (don't know the english for statore), which involves less waste of gasoline and less deterioration of the rotor's tips.
So, who is the stupid now?:biggrin2:

Firstly dayna- get the fuck over yourself- while I do think you have some pretty decent knowlege- that doesn't mean that you can come and start calling people idiots- if anyone is being stupid it is you.
Calling the 4G63 unreliable is stupid- where I come from 4G63's and 13B's etc. are far more common than in the US- and trust me- 13B's are far more prone to blowing up than 4G63's.
Luka lives in Italy- like myself- Rotaries are extremely rare over here- and bugger all people know anything about them- if Luka did get a Rotary it'd be a great chance for him to learn about them- and how they work- all you need is motivation.
Luka- why bother with a POS RX7 though- when you have a Lancia Delta Intergale????? FAR nicer than an RX7- I say invest the money and then later on spend it on the Lancia

While the Lancer Evo and Galant VR4 (Gen 1) I have never hear of having such a problem:confused: Really- you HAVE to run them on 96 or 98- I think the whole detuning of the 4G63 for the US market fuel could have something to do with it

Luka, I have no idea what you are saying... want to try to explain that again, in english?
Seriously, no offence, but I think you are misusing or mis-choosing some words...
".....different disposal of the aspiration lights, which are in the side of the cylinder..."
What the hell do you mean by cylinder???
"So, who is the stupid now?"
if all of you really want to remain repugnant about this whole thing, and my light hearted generalizations of the 4g63 then fine. And I dont think it had anything to do with the fuel... or else everyones engine in the U.S. would blow.
Luka, I have no idea what you are saying... want to try to explain that again, in english?
Seriously, no offence, but I think you are misusing or mis-choosing some words...
".....different disposal of the aspiration lights, which are in the side of the cylinder..."
What the hell do you mean by cylinder???

Hmmmmmm just on the cylinder thing he stumbled over an obstacle there- he called it a cylinder because he couldn't find the English word for statore- which I'm not too sure what it means either- it's not Combustion chamber- or Rotor housing- but it is an understandable blunder ;)
It is a good thing on Luka's part that he attempts English- it is clearly a second language and he is learning- in a perfect world the whole worl would speak on language- but we don't so we must try to be understanding of that

well dayna as as jimster posted we respect your knowledge.....its just the fact that you tend to snap at many people and called them names.....that is what we don't like and we get agravated by it......if you could just start your posts with i completetly disagree or something like it instead of "you idiot" you'll find much more respect....
the reason i recomended an evo was because its another rally legend car like his integrale....
a subaru sti would be a good choice too....

I'm truly sorry you guys, I dont mean to snap. Most of what I say, I joke around about, but you cant tell over the internet.
Get the sti if you want a rally car, not the evo.

just to be on the safe side just post "j/k" somewhere in your post...this way nobody will take you seriously.....even the older members do it despite the fact that we are used to their sty but this way you make sure nobody gets offended.......

First I have to thank Jimster for the defending me.
2nd, it's true I have a bad english and often I don't know the maeaning of technical terms.
Luka- why bother with a POS RX7 though- when you have a Lancia Delta Intergale????? FAR nicer than an RX7- I say invest the money and then later on spend it on the Lancia
My Delta has been tuned By B&M engineering, It has now the power of 412 hp without nitrous!!!
For statore I mean rotor housing and for cylinder the place where the piston goes up and down:eek7: :iceslolan , sorry agai for the pooer knowledge of the technical terms

hey dayna, just out of curiosity, do you have more details on that guy who blew up his evo? im wondering if maybe he's just an idiot and cranked the boost up too high and/or didn't break the motor in properly. and aren't you supposed to change the oil after the first 1000 miles or somewhere around there to get rid of all the crap that gets in your oil when you're breaking in a new motor?
