Mint Green R35 GTR

Hi guys,
My next project is underway. This kit was given to me by a very good friend who is also a keen modeller.
I thought I would do some thing different colour wise as my collection has alot of black and white cars (although I think they are the best colours)
I have chosen Tamiya TS-60 Pearl Green for my colour as it is the closest to mint green and the pearl is very cool too.
I also brought some Aoshima 20" BBS rims and the Tamiya PE kit for it.

The wheels have been primed and painted Tamiya gloss white.

The rear spoiler holes have been filled with styrene and Tamiya Light Curing putty. (where was this 10yrs ago!)
http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag25/circuitr/R35%20GTR/IMG_1176_zpsecdb82d8.png (http://s1297.photobucket.com/user/circuitr/media/R35%20GTR/IMG_1176_zpsecdb82d8.png.html)
Body has been primed with Tamiya white primer and some more filling needs to be done.

So that's where I am at with this project, nothing major to be done with this. Just gotta make the Aoshima wheels fit and lower it a bit.
Cheers for looking.

Cheers guys, not much of an update. Weather isn't the greatest for curing paint or primer.
I'm still touching up the boot where I have removed the spoiler holes.
But the wheels are done and I'm real happy with how they look.

Now I wanna build this again since mine could have been better. But the modeling confessions thread bothers my conscience. Either way, good start up. Just dont start watching tv, or any of those other distracting things

Ha ha ha cheers, I know what you mean. I'd like to do over a few kits myself. Luckily TV is crap here at the moment, but my nearly 2yr old daughter is keeping me busy lol

Thanks! It's not the best finish I've gotten either. I went pretty light as I am planning to put a fair bit of clear on this one.
The only trick I can think of is heating the can up in a tall glass with hot water before painting. This increases the pressure inside the can giving a more consistant pressure. Oh, and a whole heap of shaking beforehand!
I have to thank Primeraman for his tips back in the day. Does anyone know if he's still about? He's a fellow kiwi too!

Thanks for all the nice comments guys, progress has slowed up as it's busy times here.
Managed to get the clear coat on, but I managed to knock the rear with the plastic container lid I store my cars in once I've painted them to gas out and stop dust collecting on them while they cure. I had to touch up the boot lid and bumper. Nothing major.

I've then airbrushed X-10 metallic grey to the lower skirts as per manual and gave that a coat of acrylic clear. Polished off the over spray and then used Tamiya Panel line paint for the first time. pretty impressed with it. I always hated mixing up panel line paint as I always make far too much lol.

Thanks Andy! When I was uploading the photos tonight. I saw that my last entry was Oct 2013! 7months of nothing! All because I'd dropped the car, chipped some paint and broke the rear diffuser. So I packed it into its box and hoped it would fix itself. 6months later and it only took 2hrs to repair, but it was an easy fix.

Thanks Ashley. It's now practically finished, just doing the small details. Will post in the completed forum in the next day or two.
Here's my last pics of work. Rushed the Nismo stencil, thinned the red down too much and it's a bit low and can't be seen easily behind the grill. Oh well.

There's no mould lines on the front bumper as it's a seperate part. What you see there is a reflection from the flash.

Seeing that the car is of that shade of green. I would have painted the interior a medium gray an flocked the floor med-gray, to go with that light green body color. just an idea. As I love your body work it's over the top!!!
Edit: My girl's comment "It would look awesome with a two tone Medium gray to light gray interior". Medium gray for the out side sections and the lighter color for the interior colors.
