TPMS disposable use?

The new Infinity model JX35: Are the TPMS sensors "one-time" use only?

I grazed a parked car's bumper corner and part of the damage was my hub-cap was badly scraped.

The body guy says he needs pull the wheel for alignment (really??) and that means replacing the one-time use sensor (double really??).

The adjuster was ok with the alignment and ok'd the TPMS replacment tho' he'd never heard of it needing replacment if the tire is pulled. thanks.

Which begs a perhaps ignorant question: Don't alignments need to be done in 4s (ie all tires) -- and so pulling all 4 tires means 4 new tpm units if they are single use?

thanks for any clarification. B

Even more so: what about tire rotation? these sensors list for about $120. That's an awfully expensive tire rotation  because now presumably with programming the suckers you're not gonna be able to do it yourself unless you've got a fair amount of equipment...

all right, more info -- its not that they are one-time use -- but that they often/sometimes break when the wheel is removed. That's just bats right?
