Frightening Toothbrush!

OK This is just a little tale of what happened to me today when I was getting ready for work. Starts off pretty normally. I got in the shower about 2:10pm(i was on late shift tonight)...I scrub myself, rinse, dry and make my way one door down to my bedroom. I throw on my slacks and as I'm buttoning up my shirt I exit my bedroom. As soon as I open my bedroom door I hear a strange noise. Hmm, I thought to myself. I go in the bathroom to find my red crest spinbrush standing upright on the counter and ON. That's right, my toothbrush was just sitting there brushing away at nothing. My first thought was that my brother had just gotten home from work and was being funny, sadly it was only 2:25 and he didn't get off of work today until 3:00. Then I heard the back door close, so I went to investigate that and found my mother coming IN the door, she had just arrived. Crux of the story, I was home alone, and my toothbrush somehow turned itself on. I made my mother come to the bathroom and witness the toothbrush just so I'd know I wasn't crazy. Couple this with the fact that my stereo in the bedroom is always on volume 14 or 15 when I go to bed, but the only time I listen to it is before I go to sleep at volume 1. Then the time our television came on without provocation while my dad and I were in the kitchen, and also the time my brother saw a strange dark figure standing in the living room at 4 am. Crazy house, crazy stuff. Anyone else have weird stories like this?

lol no I'm an assistant manager at a supermarket. And yeah if you've ever used a spin brush, you have to click that button pretty hard to get it to stick. :help:

i have a spinning toothbrush, and i know how hard you have to press those things.

I cant say i have ever lived in a house where odd things have happened, but i did have a friend that had a house like that. Every time they went into the basement the tools would be rearraged, and weird stuff like that.

great, now im scared because im in the bark and there are several enterences to this room, not that ghosts care about doors or anything. However, my animals are acting normal, and not alarmed (except for the kitten who is always alarmed)

my old house used to be haunted. one time, at 3am, our stereo downstairs turned on, at about 25 volume (out of 50, so it was loud), BLARING the soundtrack to "Grease", the movie. then another time, my mom woke up in the middle of the night and heard footsteps pacing back and forth on her side of the bed. she heard the floor creaking. she woke my dad up and he came over to look, and it stopped. so he climbed back into bed, and woke up 5 minutes later with the exact same sounds on HIS side of the bed...pretty friggin' crazy. there's some other stuff too that i can't remember, but i'll make another post if it comes back to me.

Im not sure which is scarier...the stereo turning on or the Grease soundtrack.

At our cottage in the northern part of wisconsin we have pictures on the wall. this one time we were all outside and the campfire and we were finishing up and we came back inside to find on of the pictures on the wall was off the wall standing upright in the middle of the living room. how can a picture fall of the wall about 5 ft and stand staight up?

this was all about 6 months after my grandmother passed away too.

At my grandma's house, I woke up in the middle of the night to the radio playing in the kitchen. I went in the kitchen to the radio, still heard the music coming out of it, but it wasn't even turned on. Also, her organ will just start playing for no reason, and it's not even one that can play music by itself. FREEEAAKKYYYYY!

hey that's pretty freaky but not as bad as this, It was 11:30 PM and my computer was acting up for some reason i.e shutting down, popping up with weird messages and such. So I thought it had been on for to long so I shut it off completely. I'm watchin T.V and I look at the clock and it's 12:30AM then the computer turns itself on!!!!! It fuckin almost gave me a heart attack, and to answer a question yes everything was turned off! I hadn't just pressed restart I completely shut it down and it was off for 1 hour. Freaky?!?!?! I THINK SO!

The apartment I'm living in currently is part of this old house. This house is freaky. I've talked to some of the old tenants and the all heard weird noises and such like I do.

One guy used the front room as his bedroom and several times at night with the whole house locked up he would hear distinctly some one going up the stairs right beside his room. No one else lives in the house but him. He'd go upstairs, no one would be there.

I hear all kinds of noises when I sleep. Footsteps (which I attribute to a leaky faucet), and weird groans and creaks (which I attribute to the house settling). They're pretty authentic sounding too (the footsteps). I had to sleep in the basement the other night because of a tornado was sighted pretty close by and they said it'd be pretty dangerous all night. So yeah, that's freaky creepy. Pitch black and then the wind starts banging against the back door and the windows. The ceiling tiles are removed in several places, and you hear scurrying above you. And then there are a few windows boarded up down there that still let a little light in in the morning. Not fun sleeping down there.

I've never had any electronics act up on me by turning themselves on/off.

Love the stories:eek:

Here is mine.

My buddies and I were back East camping, we were setting around the campfire when we all noticed that the the nature sounds had silenced and the campfire had died down to a dull flame. We noticed some lights above and all looked up and seen this huge mass with glowing lights all around it(I don't know what the hell it was) but it was just hovering above us and it did not make a sound. We all looked at each other and started to run, we thought it was a meteor, or airplane or something that was going to crash into our campspot. After running like hell and finally meeting up together the thing was still there.... and then it took off up into the sky, still w/o a sound.

To this day we never really talk about it much, cause noone would believe it or just pass it as a natural phenomenen. But I know what I saw. It was not saucershaped or anything, it had no shape, it was just there.

I know this OT but it is the scariest thing I have ever witnessed.

and no I did not get an anal probe or anything

YES! Ghost Stories. It's gonna take me too long to type mine :comprage1

Before I start, the previous owner of our home had bad lung problems and died in what is now our dining room.

#1: I was laying in my bed trying to get to sleep when we first started remodeling the house. There was no one else home and my room is right next to the stairs. At the time, the wall serparating my room and the stairs had been torn out. I was starting to dose off but was woken up by heavy foot steps coming up the stairs. I watched for someone, but never saw anyone. The footsteps continued through the upstairs hallway. My mother heard the same thing on a different occasion.

#2: Our living room is about 24'x12'. Large area. Well, my parents and I were having a talk about me using the car to go our with some friends that night and were interupted by EXTREMELY heavy, raspy breathing. We stood in silence until the breathing stopped after about 3 minutes. :eek7:

The following is my favorite because no one believes it.
#3: When I was 15 I was participating in a Police Ride-Along Program, riding along with my uncle who was a police officer of 15yrs at the time. He had taken me by his office around dusk to pick up some papers that had to be taken to the Clay County Sherriff's Dept. We left from there and went down the the Clay County offices. While I was waiting in what I guess you could call a lobby, a young man walked in and announced that there had been a car wreck about 3 mile up the road and it looked pretty bad. Three of the Deputies, along with my uncle and I (after I begged), walked outside and got in the cars, but realized the teen that had walked in before was nowhere to be found. When we finally rolled up on the scene, we all got out. By only the light from the police cars and flashlights, the officers checked the vehicles. One being a black Chevy truck and the other, and last to be checked, a red early 90s cavalier. The deputies stood in shock or horror (couldn't tell which it was, or a mix of both) around the driver's side of the cavalier as my uncle and I trailed up behind them. We knew we couldn't have all seen the same thing and it not have been there, but the young man who had come into the Sherriff's Office just moments ago was sitting in the driver's seat, bloody, and dead as hell. The only survivor to my knowledge was a little girl in the truck who had been wearing a seatbelt. That was the first time I've ever seen a dead body (besides in a funeral, but that's a completely different dead it seems...the funeral seems peaceful...the car wreck just seems violent and tragic) and I will never be able to forget it.

There's my 3. Believe them or not, the choice is yours.

DOH! I forgot one. Woke up one morning at about 5:30am to voices coming from the living room. My dad had been watching TV at like 1:00 am so I figured he had fallen asleep and forgot to turn the TV off. So I got up sleepy and angry to head to the living room and shut off the TV so I could get some sleep. Only problem, TV wasn't on. As soon as I opened the door to my bedroom the noise stopped. Yeah I didn't sleep much the rest of the morning.

Hmm, the only ghost experience i had was we had a stereo which always used to turn on and increase in volume.

But we figured out why this happened. When the sun shone through one of our windows it somehow created the Infared signal to increase the volume of the stereo.

We moved the stereo and havn't had another problem.

yeah, a lot of the times there are logical explinations for things like that.

I dont know brian, i dont think the third one would have been that scary, aside from seeing freshly dead people. I would be more in awe that something like that had happened... well, im not sure how i would feel actually

I haven't been that scared yet, but I thought I was going to piss my pants on #1. #3 wasn't so much as scary from the ghost side, but just seeing a dead person who had met their end in such a violent way was probably the worst part of it. #2 just sort of freaked us out. The "hauntings" in the house have sort of abruptly come to an end in the past year. We haven't heard anything recently, and hope it stays that way. :sly:

Edit: And just so you know, the valley we are in used to be one huge plantation that had a salt mill or something on the other side of the river. The land's owner also had slaves. Just so happens that there is what appears to be an old slave graveyard about a 10 minute hike from my house, and I've been told about some graves around the ridge from me. That's a little more scary, even though we've never had problems from it.
