1995 gmc sierra k1500 interchangable?

I have a 1995 gmc sierra k1500, 5.7L, 4x4. The A/C heater climate control unit has gone bad. It has a rear window defogger. Would the unit for this model be interchangeable with a 1995 k1500 suburban? I have looked at them online and they look the same but I could be wrong. I have heard many parts are interchangeable. Suburban part could save me almost $150.00. Anyone know or have good advice as to if I should try? Thanks

Sure, it is the same ....just different body....if still in doubt ask for option code for climate control- on options sticker..

or do what I do- go on any auto parts store website, look up the control head for your truck, then look up the one for the Suburban, and see if they are the same part number!

Or go on a salvage yard website and ask for your part- and see what others come up.

Or call your dealer parts desk- ask for the part numbers for each (and price) and then thank him and buy the one online.
