I pulled the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS) out of the transmission bell housing on my 1999 Grand Caravan 3.3L, but I am not sure how to install it with the correct clearance. It will slide all the way in until it hits the flywheel. I found somewhere that it should have a clearance between 0.020 and 0.060. How do you set this clearance when there is no access inside the bellhousing. The mounting bolt hole has a slot in it so it can slide up and down a long way. Any tips? I looked these up on Ebay and it looks like there might be a pad that sticks to the end of the sensor to give it the clearance between the end of the sensor and the flywheel. Is this how the clearance is set?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I couldn't get the van to start when I installed it with the spacer, and I tried it multiple times. In the end I did it without the spacer and it has worked fine for 4 months. Could be that I got a substandard part. Hope yours works as directed!
