hey guys i have a problem on the blower motor and i think its something besides the blower motor going out it works fine most of the time but occasianaly it does not come on when this occurs i noticed that the cruise light is flashing in the dash and when this is occurring you can push the on/off switch in the steering wheel and the light does nothing . now whenever the blower motor works properly everything with the cruise functions properly no light in the dash and when turning on/off switch works properly also no noise coming from blower motor ( bearing ) sounds fine. would a bad BCM cause this or am i looking in wrong direction ??? Thanks for any Asssitance, Sincerley Mike

I have a 2001that does the same thing and had it traced to the ignition switch. If i jiggle the key around, it will start working properly. I haven't taken it to get replaced yet, but plan on it soon.

Finally took my car to get fixed. They replaced the heater control unit, and everything worked fine for about a week. Dropped it off tonight to have it looked at again. The guy who said it was the ignition switch was checking it out because it has a remote start on it. Everything worked if you use the remote start until you hit the brake, then it would go off. I would jiggle the key and it would usually start working. But the former dealer that I deal with said that wouldn't have anything to do with it, so now its back in their shop.

Well the service manager was back from vacation and it was definitely the ignition switch. 2000' 01' and 02 are notorious for this. It can be heater, wipers, or any number of other things that start acting up because of this switch, happens on impala's also.

Thanks for replying at least i know where to start , i have an impala 2005 but so far no issues with it just the 02 monte , both have been great cars 156,000 on the monte and 187,000 on the impala with many more i'm hoping..... thanks again
