2000 Sable LS Auto light problem

I have a 2000 Sable LS and the auto light doesn't work changed the sensor and still the same could it be the switch haven't checked any fues I have a bad back and sore at this time. Some times they work for a shot time then the lights go out. I have headlights when turn on manually.
