Well I know that Hlj is from japan.

They are both from Japan, hence the www.1999.co.jp for Hobby Search and obviously Hobby Link Japan.

It doesn't matter where the freighter was coming from so much as its previous ports of call, it may have stopped in Japan to pick up freight prior to heading to China?

I don't think the chance of it affecting anyone here is that great, although I will not say it is impossible.
