I am planning on replacing both the valve cover gaskets and the lower intake gasket(thin aluminum gasket in the valley) Should I use Indian Head gasket shellac on either of these applications? I know I am to use a small spot of Hi-Temp RTV on the corners of the intake gasket where it fits up to the head.
Everything I read talks about the gasket surfaces being completely clean & dry...but when I read the label of the shellac it sounds like they recommend it....any thoughts and experiences out there? I did use it on the water pump and it worked fine.

Spit, I've used it a lot in the past, but not so much lately. I would guess it wouldn't hurt to use it.
