94 ranger 4x4 splash wont engage 4x4

its a 5 speed 4.0. the 4 wheel drive worked last week, but now does not engage when you push the button. nothing happens, no lights, no noise, nothing. checked fuses, they are fine, power to the switch is fine. however, my abs light is on. could it be a speed sensor?
