Check switch.
If motor runs good on down.
Motor should be good.
For the window motor to go back up the power to it must be reversed by the switches.
Like positive is switched to neg and neg to positive.
Get a good switch wiring diagram and check the switch for doing that.
Or pull door panel and check power to window motor.
To test motor apply positive to one side and ground to other and then reverse.
Motor should run one way and then the other if good.
And remember keep your fingers out of there.

the control on the door panel of my 2000 sil for the mirrors never worked that good from day one. after a few years I had some time and took this control apart used some denatured alcohol and with Q tips cleaned the contact pads. JUST LIKE A TV REMOTE CONTROL///.
well its been many years now and still works perfectly.

Sorry guys, I just noticed that I had typed power windows instead of power mirrors. It is both mirrors that will work in every direction except up. I see where they sell switches on ebay. If I go that route, how do I access the the switch? Do I just pry up the panel from around the controls on the armrest. It seems to be hard to get off.

Thanks j cAT, I took apart today. It didnt appear to be dirty, but I did use isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip, cleaning the switch real good. It works fine now

just like a tv sat box remote the key pad circuit board just has a small film of dirt that interferes with proper operation.
thats good it was only that , you saved a good amount for the replacement controller. good luck ..
