Getting this code:

P2240 - Front Air/Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor (Bank 2, Sensor 1) IP Line High Voltage

It's a v6.

Found the thing. Looks like its right up front. Wedged close to radiator, roughly in the middle (left to right).

Got 2 issues. First, I've been looking online for the replacement part and man, that's confusing. Went to Rockauto, looked at the list and there's about 30 of them. What part number(s) should I be looking for?

Secondly, is there a trick for removing these things. I took a look at it and tried with a wrench. No way was it coming out. Also, and this is embarrassing, I couldn't disconnect the plug. I was bending the plate holding the plug but it wouldn't release.

Honda's electrical connectors can be frustrating...often they release by being manipulated opposite of how it would appear to work...but there's always some way of pinching, pulling or lifting a tab that works.

Bank 2 sensor 1 is the rear bank of the motor, pre-cat o2 sensor...do they list by location like that?

Usually you'll need an o2 sensor socket and a lotta pentrating oil to get them out...

Now the check engine light is out. Got 26.2 mpg last tank, mix of city and highway so it doesn't seem like there's anything wrong. I won't mess with it unless it comes on and stays on for a while I guess.

I just got the description for the code online. Do you think it's the rear sensor? Someone else thought it was front.

I think you're right, I forgot how the cyls are numbered on that motor. Probably the front, if the front cyls are 2-4-6.

Yeah I'd let it ride for a bit....maybe it burned something off the sensor grid that was screwing with it.

Got to a point where my check engine light stayed on. So I got a used part online and a socket. The worst part about this is the connector!

I spent over an hour trying to get it disconnected last week and ended up with blisters on my fingers.

Tried again last night. Tried pushing on the tabs. Tried pulling up on the tabs. Simply could not get the connection loose so I had to break the connection off of the metal arm so that I could get some leverage and pull the thing apart with some force.

After installing the new sensor I just wired the connection the the metal arm to keep it in place.

What a joke. Been working on cars for 30 years and never seen anything like it.
