2004 base 3.4 116k
seems when the engine is warm or was just shut off I can't get the car to start back up. I have a brand new battery and Starter in the car less than 1 month old.
car always gives me a battery light before it starts and sometimes right after it starts
turn key 1 click i get a battery light and guages come on
turn key 2 clicks to ON and I get a batter and security light
turn 3 clicks and everything on the dash dies except the check engine light.
if I keep trying eventually it will start like nothing happened, today is the first day I had to give up on it.
there was no code showing when the parts store tried to pull it.
Does this sound like a Passlock issue? if so is there any real permanent fix to override the passlock other than a new ignition? I've read about soldering in a resistor and a toggle switch but I don't really understand why it needs a toggle.
TIA -Chris

You cannot override your Passlock system with resistors. Does the car start for a second, then cut out and not restart? Does it crank and not start at all or does it not even crank?

it does not start at all
second time I say
"accessory" It's in "ON"
http://youtu.be/daHT57uj43c
from your video it sounds to be more of a connection problem.
have you checked battery cables, connections on both +/-. it can
be that theres corrosion inside cable. cutting & peel back the insulation
on the cables for better connections

The cluster is functioning normally as far as all of the lights turning off except for the check engine light when the key is turned to crank. Check the fuses and the crank relay shown in this schematic:

Swap the relay with another with the same nimber for a quick test. May just be the relay.
With the crank relay removed from the underhood junction block, test light to ground, there should be power on 2 terminals with the key in run. With test light to power, one terminal should be grounded (through the starter) and the light should illuminate, the other terminal should ground in crank position and illuminate the test light (starter enable PCM ground). Look at the diagram on the side of the relay, and jump the switch terminals, usually 87 & 30, diagonal from each other at the fuse block and see if the starter turns. Check for power at the PCM Crank fuse with the key in the crank position. If all checks good except the PCM starter enable ground, you may have a security problem as the theft deterrent for this vehicle disables crank and fuel.

sounds like it might be the BCM. I was working on my 3.4L and I forgot to plug C2, one of the 3 connectors, on the BCM back in. When I turned the key I initally got the all the instrument lights, then when I turned the key all the way...nothing not even a click, just the service engine soon. The bcm is down bt where the intermeadiate ahaft is for the steerring. There is a panel that has the courtsey light and the 2 clips...make sure all the connectors are pushed in...and of course b4 you do that as with any time you connect disconnect a module, disconnect the negative battery cable.
