I have completed the passenger's side with no problem. On the driver's side, the drive axle is not coming out of the steering knuckle. On the passenger side, the drive axle stayed in the differential. The Haynes book I have says to "pry the inner CV joint assembly from the front differential" I did not have to on the passenger side, I left the drive axle in the differential and tapped the other end out of the steering knuckle. The drive axle splines were in about a 1/2" from the hub. I am afraid they were removed in the past/damaged and pushed in just far enough. I have broken bolts on my puller and then bent the legs. Any suggestions?

It is independant. Fortunatily I got it all done. I got frustrated, after talking to a local mom/pop station, they said this was not uncommon with some dodge's. I cut the ball joint off, and had to pound the drive axle out of the steering knuckle. I bought a reman drive axle from NAPA for about $80.00 I had to take a small file and dress up all the splines. The reman axle did not come with the short stub axle. Got it all back together. Knock on wood, eveythings been going well since all this began. I will be going back to Fords after this one.
