2005 Spectra5 strange fast blinker/dash lights issue

Hello all, I am stumped here and hoping someone here can offer some sort of clue as to where to look first:
I recently mounted my car dock for my phone in the dash of my car to save clutter. I mounted the arm into the console area where the radio is right next to the Hazard and Rear Defrost switches. When I put it back together, I rather carelessly plugged the hazard and rear defrost plugs on the back into the wrong spots. When I hit the hazard switch, of course, things went haywire. I quickly shut it off and put the switches back to their rightful places, but my dash lights have gone completely dead.
This problem I could deal with, and did for a few weeks as that was the only thing wrong (the GPS works for a speedo at night...) But now my right turn signals flash super fast, and the front turn signal bulb is very dim. I don't think you can even see it in the daylight if it's sunny out. I am worried about what else might go wrong as time goes on. One other thing that is interesting is my running lights on the right side of the car do not work, which is strange since the running light also serves as the brake light: the bulb lights up just fine in the rear when the brakes are pushed. I tried to replace the bulb but that did not change anything.
Any ideas as to what might be the problem? My first instinct is to replace the turn signal switch in the steering console, but I read somewhere that the turn signals are actually controlled on a separate part called Body Control Module. What the heck is that?
