I have a Goodwrench 5.7 liter V-8 (4-bolt main) it has about 20K miles on it. It's a a heavy duty truck motor originally intended for an 86' truck. It's pushing somewhere in the 300 Hp range. I cannot be too sure of this, as it has never been dyno'd. I can only go by the manufacturer spec (290 hp truck motor) when it was sold to me and common knowlege of aftermarket parts.

Be mindful the engine is not clean in the pics. When engine is clean, it will looks mostly better than it does in current pics. The engine was painted and still have tape over all the ports. As you can see in the pictures the tape has not been taken off yet. When the engine is clean and tape removed, it looks GREAT. If you want more pics, let me know.

All parts on this motor are good with no performance issues present. It does not have any blown rings or valves, has good head gaskets, and seals, etc... . not even a single oil leak anywhere on the engine. It was literally is flawless when removed. The engine does not smoke at all or have any performance issues.

To make a long story short, a brief summary: This motor was in my car for about 3 yrs and was a project car. I did not use this as a primary vehicle (hence the low mileage). I bought this motor off the assembly line from GM manufacturer and installed by an employee of GM sometime around 03. There are no internal modifications to the motor, all bone stock. I had a few after market items on it but they were all externally added. (IE: MSD Pro billet ignition, Holley Street Dominator intake, Edelbrok 600 carb, headers and Flowmasters, plugs, wires, etc .. )

My brother decided to take this motor out of my car and put it in my new step-dads truck for fathers day. After all, he did pay for the insurance that granted me the check, giving me the ability to buy this puppy, so . .. Before the motor went in his truck, my brother was going to paint his truck, the motor, and drop it in and give him a really nice Fathers day present. This never happened, my brother dropped the ball with the project due to unforseen life circumstances. I took the motor with me, and it has been on this engine stand in my garage, wrapped up since. I do not forse myself having the funds to continue this project anytime soon. At the moment, I am having rent issues and would rather sell this and provide for my family rather than have my house go in forclosure. Perhaps this can serve someone else?

I paid 1,900 cash for this motor, with 0 miles on it. I understand I will get nothing close to this, and as such, do not expect to. I just want something fair even if I have to compormise. I'm not actually even sure what the street value of this engine is, so help me decide what I can get for this thing, when, and where.

Engine was never abused and broke in properly. I have an automotive degree, so the maintenance was done slightly before recommended. The engine was pampered and oil always changed ontime. The motor has no more than 23K miles on it, maybe a little less (17 ~18k) and works fine, aside from the fact that it's been wrapped up and inoperable in my garage. The crank turns fine, as I had a freind bring one not too long ago. Come turn it and see. Engine has no carburetor or harmonic balance, as everything was stripped for the paint job. Temperature resistance paint was used.

I would recommend to turn the crank so you can see that it turns as it's supposed to, but it was removed when painted and never replaced. If you have one you can put on for temporary, you can see for yourself. The only other thing I can do is take off the valve covers and send you a pic of the rocker arms and springs, etc. . ..I'm not sure what else I can do other than take it apart, which I'd rather not do to prove the internal parts are fine. But I figure this is a place where people will know a little more than the typical user. Unless you have any other suggestions ? Make me an offer, come look if you want.

If you guys have any idea of how I can turn this into money it would greatly be appreciated it. :1zhelp:

Motor sold. . . 700$.
:-)

A gentlement cam and looked at it, pulled the oil pan and valve covers, then spun the crank. Felt the cylinder walls and was totally happy. I was sad to see it go though.

Now to just get rid of the intake :-P
