2002 Monte Carlo Low Coolant Light

I just purchased a 2002 Monte.

The first gremlin was the "low coolant" warning light comes on then goes off and comes back on a few miles latter. Checked the coolant level, fine. The coolant level sensor was replaced a month before I purchased the car (the old one was still wedged under the head light).

Also what type of coolant does this thing use? It's red/orange?

This is my wife’s daily drive and she indicated that the Service trac light came on and the abs light came on and the crac off light came on and she heard a grinding sound. The grinding sound is normal when the tac off button is pushed but she did not press it.

I was doing some reading that the trac/abs could be the ABS Motor Pump. This is still under warrantee so not a problem but they will not fix it until it goes out. Any ideas on what else this could be or how I can get them to replace the pump? Where is the pump located?

We drove it today and the trac/abs lights did not come on, the low coolant did. Is there a reason this would come on if there is no problem? Is there a diagnostic I can tell them to do to verify if there is a problem?

If the light comes on the diagnostic computer should log the event correct?

I love the car but these lights are a P.I.A.

Thanks all

if you have them read the ABS Codes, that should be enough proof
for them to realiese there is a problem.
as for the low coolant lamp was the sensor replaced(1 stuck under headlight)??could be bad connection, wire issue
the car uses dexcool antifreeze(orange/reddish in color)

You can try unplugging the coolant level sensor, the low message should stay off then. If so the sensor could be bad again.

The ABS will have codes stored even if the light is off. The most common codes are for the wheel speed sensors. It's usually broken wires or the sensor itself.
