Just jacked up the wifes PA Ultra and noticed the right side has some wiggle to it.

Went to Rock Auto and was going to order the inner and outer tie rods and replace them both.

However, there are a few inner tie rods that are either "with Variable-assist steering" or "without Variable-assist steering".

Just wondering how i should know if i have the Variable-assist steering. Thanks for any help.

Look at the SPID sticker on the spare tire cover to see if you have either; RPO code: NV7 "Variable Effort" steering , or NV8 RPO code option "Magnetic Steering assist"(Magnasteer).

HotZ28, I do not have either NV7 or NV8 codes present.

Was this an option on top of the Ultra package? Just seen on another site a guy said that sometimes the the NV7/NV8 codes could be bundled in with another code such as a package on GM vehicles. Kinda got me wondering. Whatcha think?

The cheaper tie rods are all listed as with or without Variable-assist steering, but ACDELCO Part # 45A2077 does not specify that it matters

And here, enjoy this short vid a friend did for a veterans day luncheon at his church. Thank you for your service.

"Magnetic Steering assist"(Magnasteer) would be included with the Y56 GRAND TOURING PACKAGE (MERCHANDISING OPTION) TOURING PKG (Y56); and in addition, the SPID should include NV8 to identify that option (at least it does on mine.) Quite frankly, I don't think the steering options would have any effect on the replacement of the inner/outer tie rods. Click Here (http://www.aa1car.com/library/2004/bf10434.htm) for more info about the difference between Variable Assist & Magnasteer. BTW, nice vid, thanks!
