I have two problems with my 2005 Town Car (http://www.lincolnforums.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7888#)

1 - A/c - when activated the fan makes a very loud noise and blows warm air until I get the car (http://www.lincolnforums.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7888#) on the highway and then it turns cold but the fan still makes a louder than normal noise?

2- Driver seat back does not move in either direction yet all of the other seat functions still work? When I push the control to recline I hear the motor (http://www.lincolnforums.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7888#) but the seat does not move.

Welcome to the forum!

1.- Your system might be low on R-134, I would check it or get it checked with the proper gauges. Your fan might be going bad, you can try running a set of wires from the battery to the fan and see if the problem persists, if that's the case you'll have to replace it.

2.- The gear on the motor might have come loose/out, you'll need to remove the seat and visually inspect it...

Here's the procedure, it looks like you were right it only takes those screws to remove it.

A/C - I removed the actuator successfully and ordered a new one

Seat Recliner - When I put my hand under the seat and pushed on the recliner motor the seat reclined. I couldn't get access to the motor without removing the seat, in removing the seat I snapped one of the front seat bolts (getting that sucker out of there added an hour to the job). One of the nuts holding the recliner motor in place was missing and the other was almost off, I replaced the missing nut and remounted the motor, re-installed the seat and it's like new again.

Installed the new Actuator tonight and it has solved the noise problem, fan is once again quiet, thanks for the help.

Nice, it's good to know you fixed both problems!

Thanks for the feedback, most users never do it.

Oscar.

I also fixed a rear wheel bearing on the wife's car thanks to the Volvo forum page. This is one of the best tech forums I have found on the internet.
