98 cavalier subframe?

I just had my 98 cavalier inspected and it failed for the lower control arms and a fist size hole in the subframe. Is this a part that can be replaced?
The control arms are not a problem. But this fist size hole in the subframe has me a bit at a loss. Monroe Muffler said they could get back on the road for $500 for the subframe and $500 for the control arms.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx for the help.

I have replaced afew of those subframes, not that uncommon. The prices seem a bit high though. At a wrecker the subframe is usually between 75 and 150 depending on who has one that day and from a wrecker they come with control arms. takes about 3 hours to replace. Maybe more depending on how rusted it is.

Thank you for the info!!!
I have been looking around here and the two K frames I found were $255 and $285.
Of course the cheaper one was sold yesterday. Dealer wants $422.
As soon as I find one I will give it a go. I have done everything else on this car this is just one more new thing to do.
Thank you again for the help!!

snshddog,
You were correct, it took the 3 of us about 2 hours to get everything off and the K frame out as well. Thank God for air tools. I really do not think you would every get the K frame out without air tools. Now I sit and wait for a used one to come in from PA. and put it all back together. Lots of fun!!
