Motor Trend Sucks

I have had a subscribtion to m/t for almost a year now and IMO the rag sucks. Some of the things they say I swear they just pull it out of there ass, for example they did a review on the Mazda MP3 and they said that the car was named that because the stereo can play them which is true but Mazda named it MP3 for Mazda Peformance 323 I know the car is now named the protege' but it used to be called a 323. Anyways they do that kind of crap all the time. Also there performance numbers are allways way off, probably because they don't even use a third wheel like C&D do's, but if they have an ad for the car the numbers are always better then normal and 9 out of 10 times the cars that have an ad in there wins there dumbass comparisons. Look at the performance shoot out issue, they have a Z06, M3, and a Boxter S, come on why would you even put a Boxter S against cars like that in then at the end of the test they declare the M3 the winner even though the Z06 whiped the M's ass in everthing exept the slalom wich was a tie, and surprise surprise guess who has a full page add in there mr. M himself.

I know, that seems to happen a fair bit. But I still like it. What I do is read their impressions, then I pick the winner. That way BMW money wont influence me:)

id have to disagree with you. ive read mt since i was 12 years old, and have been reading it since. it is one of the greatest mags ever, and if you happen to really read what they said in the m3, boxter, z06 you would realize what it says. also they explained why they did what they did on the television show, mt telivision. what you say is bullshit

Sorry but that Z06 M3 did it for me..i mean the M3 would get the snot beat out of it in traffic.. on a twisty winding road..G's mean alot more than slalom... and pure acceleration for less money.. interior.. i've been in both and the beemer is no big deal..and since i'm a two seater sort of guy i could give a shit who's in back. as long as my date is strapped in i'm good..
I'm a Mechanicl engineer... and i've worked with some tuner over the years .. you might guess which one when you read my car list.. but Motor trends Number are way off.. they don't accont for sea level or altitude temp barometric presure.. hell i saw them give a Ws6(ls1 mind you 13.9 .. my Firehawk .. that anyone with a brain know is identical in rwhp to a Ws6 and also has realram air turnd 13.4 at 700 miles.. what up with that?
didn't they test the 03 cobra against the ss camaro with its faux ram air.. cool air intake and of course the cobra won.. had it raced a firehawk or Ws6 the Average times would have beeen identical.. i cold go on.. they are proccupied with BMW's and quick to point out that a z06 interior is only 90% as good as the beemers.. so what.. clean it armor all it and no chick nor guy will be the wiser.

it gave us f body guys the idea of using roof flashing to cove the underside of the firebird like a modena given positive downforce and reducing drag at high speed we all picked up 5 mph tiop end a high speed stabiliztion occured..
so theya are good for blowing mechanical secrets

Even though they think the BMW 3 series is the greatest thing since sliced bread. The G35 is so much better.

I'm not liking them too much either. They for biased opinions based on advertisers not actual facts. They also bash american made cars especially GM and have nothing to back it up. Unfortunatly I bought a 3 year subscription so might as well look through it, but I wouldn't spend another dime on it.
