2005 Forester - right side tire wear

I have a 2005 Forester with 55,000 miles on it. I'm now ready for my 3rd set of tires, which is ridiculous....... I keep the tires properly inflated, aligned, and all that jazz...... My 1st set of tires - the right side wore out first; same deal with the 2nd set of tires - right side wore out much quicker. I don't drive aggressively; I can't baby the car much more than I do now, yet I can't keep the right side tires from wearing a lot quicker....
Anybody else have this issue? Or any suggestions what might be causing this?

I see you're in Pgh. What Subaru dealer are you going to? I can say that when I lived up there, I wouldn't have gone to Budd Baer to save my life. I highly recommend either Day Apollo or Day on W. Liberty. Always had successful times with them. Have you had a full 4-wheel alignment done? Those daggone potholes up there would eat a small child, so they can really torque up some suspension. What tires are you buying? I've had the same stinkin tires on my 05 forester for upwards of 60k miles/6 years. They're the Goodyear TriplTreads. I don't even know if they make them anymore, but the valve stems have all rotted out and had to be replaced, but I still have plenty of tread left on them.
Also, any chance you're carrying cargo in an off-center fashion?

I got my car at Kunkles Subaru in Delmont, Pa. I get 4 wheel alignments regularly on the Forester....... My original tires were Yokohama Geolanders, and the 2nd set were Yokohama Avid TRZs. I'm thinking of staying away from the Yokohamas.... I'm thinking of getting some Firestone Affinity Touring, and trying them out (cant do much worse than the 1st 2 sets of tires....). As far as off-center cargo is concerned - I rarely carry much of anything in the car, so I don't think weight is an issue....

I almost bought a Forester from Kunkles. :)
The stock Geolanders on mine wore unevenly - then an ex of mine punctured a tire so I didn't have to worry about it. Sounds like it may be the Yokohamas. I don't know anything about the Firestone tire you mentioned, but at least it's a name that doesn't make me cringe. :) Other tire brands I've had pretty good success with in the past (on non-AWD cars) are Dunlop and Falken.
Post back after a few thousand miles and let us know what you picked and what you think!

Sorry to hear that you're having right side tire wear, is it both front and rear right side wear?
or is it just on front? or rear?
If on Right Front tire, then get down and look at the cross-bar over the Right Rear wheel.. to see if you don't have a bent bar there... you can see it if it is bent by comparing the contour arch of the bar from one side to the other.. it'd be the bar that is about 20 inches long that arches over to the wheel joint bushing. Also check the shocks from side to side and see if there's any of the bolt brackets broke or the right side worn and the left side isn't..
Otherwise.. take it to a "Sharp" alignment shop to professionally find out what the problem IS..
least you can be putting many sets of tires on it until the real problem is fixed.
Tire quality doesn't fix the problem..it's only give you some extra mileage that will equal your extra $$$ before realizing the same problem again. [Tire replacement ]
Hope this helps!
