97: How to disable ABS light?

1997 Pontiac Transport. ABS light has been coming on and off for several years but lately after transmission has been replaced it's always on.

Mechanic that replaced Transmission can't figure why it's on, even after scanning/resetting the light

Brakes have been inspected and they're fine. Actually, recently replaced calipers, rotors, pads and lines. System is bled and brakes work awesome.
Also, both wheel bearings have been replaced with Timken brand.

I really don't care about ABS nor I want to hear people telling me that my car is unsafe. It's not unsafe. It drives and brakes just fine. I could care less about ABS light. I just need this light out.

My questions:
1. Can the fuse be pulled to have this light disabled? If so, what fuse?
2. If there is no fuse, I want to take the dash apart and put masking tape over the light or cut wires. Does anyone have instructions on how to open up dash?
3. Is there any other easier way to disable this darn light?

Thanks in advance

First, ABS light on means there is a corresponding code to read. If your mechanic canīt figure out why the light is on, he donīt know how to read the codes or he do not have the right equipment to do it!

Second, The reason the the ABS light on is most likely one of the wheel sensors. The code tells you which one!

third, not sure if it is the same as as 95ī, but in my 95ī I can disable the ABS light by pulling out a fuse. problem is that other light as well as the small gauges also disables!

forth, I guess it will work to take the bulb out from the panel. This is possible for 95ī, but I have no instructions for you.

Last, I totally agree with you. Driving without ABS is not unsafe. It is probably more safe with a totally disabled ABS system than a system that only work now and then.

Nick, thanks for your feedback. Do you know which fuse do I need to pull on your 95? I can see if it'll work for me

I really wouldn't mind taking cluster apart to cut out the light.
Anyone has instructions? Do I need to rip out dash to get to this light?

The newer van is a W Body related platform...

The ABS light for you can be a wheel speed sensor, or even the ABS pump... You might be able to simply unhook the connector for the ABS unit... Or look in your Owners manual for what fuse covers the ABS system and if the ABS system is the only item on the circuit..

All right, I tried pulling all ABS related fuses and light is still on.
I think next step is to take cluster apart and cut ABS light wires.

Does anyone have instructions on taking cluster out? Does dash need to be taken apart?

Diagram here for '97. It provides wire and connector coding.

Thanks MPL.
It looks like I need to cut light green wire to kill ABS Warning light

Does anyone know where this Electronic Brake Traction Control Module is located at? It says left of I/P but I am not sure what that means

I/P: instrument panel
It must be close to and above brake pedal.
