Sounds Like It Wants To Stall

As soon as the engine turns over and idles down you immediately hear the engine sounding as if it is gonna stall. While in park and not doing anything the engine idles fine but when I press the gas pedal and then let off the gas the engine idles down real low and sounds as if its going to stall but doesn't.
I decided to take it for a test ride thinking the problem might go away if I just rode around the block a couple of times but it didn't. It sounded like it wanted to stall every time I came to a stop. I had to press hard on the gas pedal a couple of times just to make it back home. Once I made it home and put the jeep in reverse the engine finally stalled on me.
This started happening immediately after I installed a new radio. I thought it might be due to broken off pieces on the batteries top post clamp I had been meaning to replace. But after I installed the new top post clamp there was no change.
I'm thinking its something simple I can fix but I can't figure out what it is. Has anybody had this happen to them or can someone tell me what the problem might be. Thanks

I'm not really sure I understand the quotes because they seem to contradict each other?

Aside from that, it sounds like it is starving for fuel!

Sorry about that..I was meaning to say that once the vehicle is on and in park and I press the gas pedal then let off the gas it sounds like its about to cut off. I was low on gas so I took a chance and went to the gas station and put some in. On my way back it stalled on me. I don't know when the fuel filter was replaced last so I'll check on that. Thank for the info.
