radio/clock/CD player resetting on startup

Any help out there? I have a 2005 GT Mustang and upon starting the radio?clock and CD player reset. I've checked the 10 amp radio (start) fuse (not blown) located behind the front passenger kick plate. When I hit the ignition the radio LED goes out for about 5-10 seconds and then come back up. The Radio has reset back to 590 AM, the clock resets to 12:00 and the CD player recycles through the CD's. The current battery has been in the car for about 2 years and I don't have any issues starting the car at this time. The car is garaged at night and covered during the day while at work. This problem started about 4-5 months ago. At that time it was very sporadic(once every couple of weeks) and thought nothing of it, now it occurs every-time I start the car. I have not installed any aftermarket items to the vehicle and have the original factory "Shaker 1000" system. Any advise or diagnosis would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like the switched 12V fuse to radio is blown ...

In the electrical connector on the back of the radio, pin #1 has a light green with violet trace wire and it should show battery voltage at all times. If it loses voltage, all memories in the radio will be lost when the ignition is turned off. Feed comes from a 20 amp fuse in the BEC, (Bussed Electrical Center). Check the connections at the BEC fuse terminals, and at the radio. The wire goes through one other connector, can't tell you where though, probably in the dash somewhere. ;) Good luck!

my bad, old master is right - the constant 12V is the one that keeps the memory.
