That son of a bitch told me I could make up my work missed from going on vacation, and today he tells me I can't. There goes my 3.72 GPA and my 1500 dollar scholarship. I need to find some way to bribe/blackmale/trick him into giving me a good grade.

Go da.. fu.. sh.. bit... mother fu... UGGH!

Let him take your anal virginity and then videotape it to use it against him......hey, you asked. You poor, poor bastard......well, hope you enjoyed your vacation. :p You should have gotten in writing that you could do the work after you came back from your vacation. *shrug*

Later!

Why did you take your vacation in the middle of the semester then?

I just love people that make decisions but ain't willing to live with the consequences:rolleyes:

Yea I agree with Sidewinder, you should have got it in writing. All you can do now is beg and plead with him and keep telling him that he said you could make it up and maybe he'll give in. Good luck man, that blows big balls.

Go to the department head or the dean of students. You might get some help there.

My mom planned this vacation last year at around this time. She'd be heartbroken if I said no. Do you like breaking your mom's heart? I don't either. In any case.. I 'thought' i had this all worked out before I left.

I'll try the beg and plead method and see if I can't do some things outside of class.

So you're shifting the blame to your Mom?

My Mom? I don't have a Mom......so there is one I don't have to worry about either.

Is your Mom going to get you into University and a better job, or is your math grade and a good GPA?

Hey, don't blame this on just us Math people... You know, I'm going to be a math teacher some day.... :p

Anyhoo, explain to the teacher that you had a verbal contract arranged with him before the vacation, and that he will be in default if he doesn't complete his end of the agreement. Keep your cool, most importantly. It's so hard to be mad at someone who is calm and collected. Also, start doing your research into who is on the next rung of the ladder. Find the department head/chair. If your teacher won't help you work something out, then put your calls in. (can we tell I've had problems with teachers before???)

Freakray, I'm not blaming anybody but myself, chill out..

I took the begging approach... Here's the e-mail I wrote him today:

Dusty,
I'm not really good at opening up letters so let me just get straight to the point. I am having trouble at the pace we are going in the class. I know I fell behind because I was under the misconception that we could make up late work in class. That was my mistake and I should have paid more attention. This vacation seemed to really set me off the steady track that I was on. If I knew what kind of stress that would entail afterwards, I would not have gone at all. You might say, "but this is just one class". While that's true, I have two others to worry about also, not to mention my keeping at least a 3.5 GPA which gets me a $1500 scholarship next year at Central Washington University. Trust me, I'm going to get it from everyone if I do bad.

Just to be perfectly clear, I am not placing any blame on you whatsoever. I could have said no to the vacation when it was being planned (1 year ago) and would have had no problems right now. I just couldn't back out later because of the airline tickets being non-refundable. So this is entirely my fault. However, now that you understand my situation, let me explain my plea. (And this is me on my knees praying to the math teacher god..)

I need time; A week at most. I need to catch up in the academic systems so I can complete my homework with a little understanding of the subject. Right now I am literally struggling through 16.2. If I do somehow complete the homework tonight, it's not going to do me much good because chances are, most the answers will be incomplete or wrong. You saw how fast I got through the material at the beginning of the semester. I know I can catch up. If I can't get the time, please at least let me make up the homework that I haven't turned in. I know a common argument for this is that "in a work situation, you have to meet deadlines", but this is a school situation, where you have to learn in order to put food on your mind's table. I guarentee you that I can get all work done by the end of the semester if you would please, please let me catch up first. If I try to go through this now, chances are, I'll be struggling the rest of the semester, and may even consider dropping the class to save my GPA and save my parents' money. I'll mow your lawn for a month if that's what it takes, I just really need a little more slack. I'll work my tail off to get a good grade in this class, whatever it takes.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and I sincerely everything works out for the best.
Respectfully,
Barrett J.

if worse comes to worse. withdraw from the class before the F(or whatever unsatisfactory grade) carries over, then just make the class up in the summer. won't effect your gpa but you'll have to pay for the class again

Well, he gave me some leeway because of that e-mail. Letting me make up some past assignments. He's not so bad afterall, just a rookie I guess. The older math teachers are more easygoing. I doubt I'll drop it, but it will hurt my GPA.
