I purchased this car last night and it drove fine on the way home except for a fishy smell that went away, when arriving at home i turned it off and this morning it would not start, turns over quick thought maybe a broken timing belt but the belt is in tacked and spinning when trying to start, I thought maybe bad fuel so i put some new gas in it but no luck, It is getting spark and gas, The one thing that was wierd is that I am getting alot of fumes and a little smoke out of the intake air filter, and it backfires now and than, and the intake manifold gets hot to the touch. Please help.

I'm not a professional by any means but it sounds like the intake valves are open when the exhaust valves should be. Like the timing is messed up or something, check the timing. That's the only thing I can think of w/ the smoke out the intake. Which means that your getting some kind of combustion. The other guys on here will probably be more helpful but that's where I would start.

The intake manifold gets hot and the car doesn't run? definitely sounds like a timing problem. The car should not just jump timing tho. Does the car fire at all or does it just turn over?

Has this been fixed yet? Fishy smell is usually ECU caps...
