2004 died in driveway.

My son backed his 2004 Expy out of the garage and when he got to the end of the driveway, it died. He put it in PARK and tried to restart.......DEAD.
No cranking. Lights and horn worked. Checked the battery cables/clamps and one was loose. Wound up replacing one of the clamps...still wouldn't crank. Couldn't move the shift lever out of PARK either. Went inside for a short time and when he came back out, the radio was playing with no key in the ignition. Had it towed to a mechanic. They found Fuse #3 under the hood was loose. Actually, they told him "the fuse pin was out."
Can anyone explain/describe what a "fuse pin" is? Truck starts/runs fine now, however.

Things sometimes happen for no apparent reason. On your tow if you paid cash, check with your auto insurance company for tow coverage. You could get some of your money back.

Happened again!! I was able to figure out the cause and the fix.

The fuse for the ignition was blown. Figured out that when my son removed his aftermarket bass speaker/amp, he didn't insulate the RCA audio cables. They shorted out thru the radio which goes thru the ignition fuse.
This fuse is located behind the passenger kick panel. It was on the right side of the fuse panel near the bottom.

Glad you found the issue. It can sometimes be frustrating.
