I've a 2000 Monte Carlo with 92.000 miles (3.4 L engine). Currently having problem removing left side front wheel from the vehicle. After removing all the lug nuts, I noticed the wheel seem to be refusing to come off the hub. Has anyone else ever had this type problem. I hadn't ever removed the wheels from the front of vehicles since buying it in 2008. Very embarassing to even ask this question for i have NEVER EVER had problem removing a wheel from a vehicle after removing all of the lug nuts. What on earth could be keeping the wheel from coming off the vehice? There is a center cap on the wheel but this have nothing to do with the removal correct? BTW, the wheels ae 16 inch chrome wheels. Didn't want to hit the wheel with sledge hammer for i'm not sure what the nature of the problem is.:mad:

Need to remove wheels to inspect wheel sensors. ABS light has been coming on intermittently for months! Very aggravating!

Thanks for any assistance and or comments!

It is corroded onto the hub, big sledge from the back, don't hit the wheel though, or leave the lugs on but loose, let the car down turn the wheels sharply may shake it loose, every day occurence where I live. Use never- seize on the wheels and hubs to prevent this.

I disagree with the sludge hammer unless you use this hammer daily where you work ...one miss and your be very unhappy..

whenever the wheel rims are corroded to the hub you loosen the lug nuts then slowly drive the vehicle turning the steering wheel lft /rt to get the rims loose ...

you start banging on those rims you can damage the bearings and that rim is soft alloy crap...

since I've had to do this many times /////on other vehicle owners equiptment ,,,,upon installing the rims put some anti sieze on the steel hubs after a good wire brushing to remove all corrosion this will then never happen again...

don't get the lube on the lug studs/nuts obviously !!!

First of all I did not tell him to hit the rims, second, the wheel will not loosen this way if they are really frozen to the hubs, 3rd I did tell him to use never -seize on the hubs/wheels.

I just pointed out my solution to the issue of corroded wheels stuck to the hubs ...there is no need to beat the vehicle and possibly injury your self ...or the vehicle ...
