LOL

I assume it's manual. I don't think an A/T can be stuck in R since it's electronic switch control (except P). Unless if cable/switch is severely rusted, but it's still possible to force it.

tips: has someone push the vehicle while you shift. Try backward way if frontward pushing doesn't work. Or lift the vehicle on 4 wheels side while shifting. You need at least 2 hydraulic jacks.

Sorry for not giving enough info. I'm actually doing this for my husband, so it's definitely an "I.O." problem! :) It's a standard/shift...

It's not guaranty that my tricks work, but they could.
The truck his parked on a hill? If so, it should be pushed in direction of the hill, which is impossible with human force. If it's not on a hill, it should be easier.

It's in our driveway now, a flat surface...my husband will try your tricks, I am so grateful!

I think I forget to specify something.
When the truck is pushed, you must depress the clutch pedal. If not, the truck will not budge.

If there's enough room behind the truck, you can also start engine, go backward, then try shifting to N while the truck is in motion. With clutch depressed of course.
