Tamiya Peugeot 206 WRC 2001

1/24 Tamiya Peugeot 206 WRC 2001

This is the Peugeot 206 WRC 2001. It was painted with Testor Gray Penzer spraycan and 2 coats of automotive Lacquer (I change of lacquer after this model) The result is quite nice and as usual; Tamiya made a great kit.

About the Peugeot 206 WRC 2001

The Peugeot 206 was the remarkable car that clinched the World Rally Championship double title in the year 2000. The Peugeot 206 took the Constructors' Title again in 2001. Only 4 meters long, this compact machine brought both performance and beauty to the rugged WRC scene. The machine used for the 2001 World Rally Championships featured only minor modifications of the previous year's 206, and kept the same horizontally installed 2-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine with longitudinally installed gear box. Although Peugeot lost the 2001 Drivers' Championship to Richard Burns of Subaru, Peugeot made its final statement of excellence when the WRC 2000 Champion driver Marcus Gronholm and Peugeot teammate H. Rovanpera took a first and second place finish in the final event, the Rally of Great Britain.
