Tamiya Winfield Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32)

1/24 Tamiya Winfield Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32) 1991 Bathurst
This kit began life as Tamiya’s R32 Calsonic GT-R as this had most of the parts needed for this project. The only parts not used were the wing mirrors instead standard mirrors were taken off of an R32 GT-R street car as they were the closest looking to the Bathurst car.
The decals were purchased from someone in Australia who had made the decal kit. The car was painted in tamiya’s mica red inside and out the Calsonic wheels were painted white to replicate the custom made 18 x 10 inch, hollow spoke, centre-lock alloys.
The decals were a little weak and when applied using decal fix the decals began to fall apart. Luckily enough I had ordered 2 sets of decals so had spare to complete the kit. Since building this kit I have purchased a magazine with detailed pictures of the real car fully restored after crashing coming down the Mount Panorama so I can see where I went wrong.
